Six more Covid-19 patients discharged, zero new cases reported

KUCHING, July 1: No new Covid-19 cases or fatalities were reported in Sarawak today.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a media statement disclosed that the cumulative number of positive cases for Covid-19 in Sarawak remains at 571.

SDMC also revealed that six more patients have recovered and been discharged. Five of them were from Bintulu Hospital while one is from Sarawak General Hospital.


Another 10 patients are still under treatment at medical facilities statewide.

With these recoveries, the cumulative number of patients who have recovered from Covid-19 in Sarawak are 544 people or 95.27 per cent of total cases recorded.

The number of deaths in Sarawak remains at 17.

SDMC also revealed that there were 32 new Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) cases and 10 still awaiting laboratory results.

As for Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS), a total of 63 PUS were registered today and quarantined in several hotels in the state

Meanwhile, SDMC disclosed that foreigners who have been staying in Malaysia for at least 30 consecutive days are allowed to enter Sarawak without any quarantine requirements.
