MIRI, April 30: A family of six, including a four-year-old child were left homeless when a fire destroyed their wooden house in Kampung Lusut Jaya 3 on Monday night.

The victims were aged between four to 50-years-old.

Two fire engines with 16 firefighters led by Abang Mohd Fadhil were inmediately despatched to the scene after receiving an alert on the incident at 9.32pm.

However, upon arrival at the scene located about 15km from the Miri fire station, they discovered the house was already 100 per cent burnt.

No injuries were reported during the incident, as the occupants managed to flee the house when the fire broke out.

It is believed that the fire might have started from the kitchen. The actual cause of the fire and total losses are still being investigated. — DayakDaily
