KUCHING, Jan 22: Six lucky visitors will have the chance to win free umrah packages during the Sarawak Umrah & Islamic Travel Expo Festival 2025 (SUITEX25), which will be held at Mydin Tunku Vista in Petra Jaya from February 21 to 23.
Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, revealed that the free umrah packages are sponsored by licensed agencies under the Sarawak Umrah and Hajj Organization (SUHA).
“Additionally, visitors can win 11 discounted umrah vouchers worth RM1,000 and RM2,000, along with 10 bottles of 5-litre Zam Zam water.
“All these offerings will be presented as prizes in a lucky draw organised by the event committee, with terms and conditions available to visitors during the event,” he said at a press conference held at Baitul Makmur II here today.
Abdul Karim emphasised that SUITEX25 demonstrates the Sarawak government’s dedication to supporting Islamic tourism while providing the public with transparent and competitive Hajj and Umrah packages.
“We aim to attract 5,000 visitors to SUITEX25,” he added.
SUITEX25, organised by SUHA and supported by the Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts (MTCP), will act as a platform to promote various umrah, hajj, and Islamic tourism packages.
Running daily from 10am to 10pm, the expo will feature 50 booths and an array of activities catering to all ages.
The first day of the event will feature a special sharing session with celebrity speaker PU Riz and a free health screening for visitors.
On the second day, highlights include a forum titled “Haji & Umrah – Dolok dan Kinek Tuk,” the launch of SUHA’s Umrah Guidebook, performances by the Al-Musthofa Nasyid Group, and a blood donation drive.
The final day will focus on family-friendly activities, including a children’s coloring competition, a mini hajj simulation program for kids, and the closing ceremony of the event.
