Singles aged 21 and above earning below RM2,000 to get one-off RM500

KUCHING, May 8: A total of 377,806 single individuals aged 21 and above, whose monthly income is under RM2,000 will be receiving one-off cash allocation of RM500 from the Sarawak government.

The announcement was made by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg who launched Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) 3.0 at a press conference here today.

ā€œI am very happy to announce that the Sarawak government will give one-off cash allocation as much as RM500 to 377,807 single individuals who are 21 years old and above, whose (monthly) income is below RM2,000.

ā€œThe measure is expected to cost the Sarawak government an expenditure of RM234 million,ā€ said Abang Johari.

He said under BKSS 1.0, household heads of B40 group with a monthly income of RM4,000 and below were given RM250 cash each month for six months.

The Sarawak government however, had received information that there were many who were entitled but their names were not in the list.

Relating to that, Abang Johari said Sarawak government had given opportunity for these heads of households who are eligible to appeal online or to apply at nearest District Office beginning Apr 18 to 28.
