KUCHING, Jan 6: Singing activities at open karaoke outlets are only allowed in reserved corners and stages where the use of microphones can be closely monitored by operators.

Ministry of Public Health, Local Government and Housing in stating this reminded karaoke operators to prepare microphone covers for their customers and sanitise the microphones after every use.

In karaoke lounges, operators must ensure sufficient number of staff to monitor activities in each room.

All activities preventing physical distancing and could attract crowds are prohibited.

While night clubs and pubs are still banned, dance floors and DJ spinning are also disallowed.

The floor plan suggested by the ministry for open karaoke outlets is provided in the image below.
