KUCHING, May 24: Artist Bob Yusof has recorded his first-ever single in Iban called ‘Rami Time’.

Bob said that after twenty years in the singing industry, he finally got his opportunity to sing in the Iban language.

“I never thought that I would sing a song in Iban one day, and I am very happy I did. This is something new, and I am willing to try.

“The song ‘Rami Time’ is written and composed by a local composer here Hairee Francis.

“The lyrics and rhythm are suitable for festive occasions like the Gawai Dayak festival that falls June 1,” he told reporters at the launching of the single at Kafe Parimpan Metrocity at Matang today.

Bob said he is very grateful that he got the chance to work with Hairee who himself, is a young talented singer and composer.

“It was a coincidence that I met Hairee. I liked his songs and lyrics so I asked him if he could do one for me. Initially he was reluctant, but after I heard the demo and the melody of the song, it struck my attention, and I felt good about it so we started the collaboration,” Bob revealed.

Bob said he learned the Iban lyrics quickly as he had many people who helped him and also helped in the recording process.

“I am glad the recording was a success. The song is to be aired on radio stations soon, and the video shoot for the song is in the final stage of the production,” he said, adding the video will be released soon once it is ready and it will be released on a social media platform.

“I will announce it through my Bob Yusof social media too,” he said.

Hailing from Limbang, Bob Yusof’s real name is Yurizan Usop. He started his singing career after placing fifth in singing reality show Academi Fantasia Season 2.
