Simunjan the only district with zero Covid-19 cases in past two weeks

KUCHING, April 27: Simunjan is Sarawak’s sole Covid-19 green zone after Telang Usan registered a case.

According to reports from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the single case in Telang Usan means the district is now categorised as a Covid-19 yellow zone.

Meanwhile, SDMC said in a statement, the Covid-19 situation in Matu has worsened with the district now a red zone after 43 cases were recorded over the past 14 days.

A red zone is a district which reported 41 cases and above over the past fortnight.

Currently, there are 22 districts in Sarawak classified as red zones, recording 7,539 cases in the past two weeks.

They are Matu, Lundu, Pakan, Song, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Belaga, Kanowit, Selangau, Saratok, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

The orange zones in Sarawak are Sebauh, Bau, Julau, Betong, Kabong, Sri Aman and Marudi which reported a total of 210 cases in the past 14 days.

The 10 districts classified as yellow zones comprise Telang Usan, Lawas, Asajaya, Pusa, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu and Limbang which reported a total of 64 cases in the past two weeks. — DayakDaily
