SIMUNJAN, Sept 17: An old block belonging to Simunjan health clinic was destroyed in a fire last night.
Fire and Rescue department (Bomba) in a statement disclosed that one of the three blocks which were built on a non permanent structure caught fire at about 8.20pm.
A total of 14 firefighters led by Simunjan station chief Mat Undik were dispatched to the scene.
They carried out their firefighting task by obtaining water from a fire hydrant and open source from nearby drain with portable pump.
Block number two was totally destroyed but firefighters managed to control the fire from spreading to block one and three.
No injuries were reported and cause of fire is under investigation. — DayakDaily
