KUCHING, Sept 11: The Similajau National Park (SNP) will be temporarily closed to the public from Sept 10, 2024 until March 9, 2025.
According to the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) in a Facebook post, this six-month closure has been initiated to facilitate critical maintenance work aimed at preserving the park’s long-term sustainability and ensuring the safety of future visitors.
“During the closure, we will be focusing on improving the overall infrastructure and facilities at SNP.
“These enhancements will contribute to a more enjoyable and informative experience for visitors when the park reopens,” stated the Controller of National Parks and Nature Reserves.
The Controller further apologised for any inconvenience caused by the closure and expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and support during this period.
“We are committed to ensuring the continued conservation of the wildlife and natural beauty of the park.”
