KUCHING, Oct 30: Kuching and Samarahan Division Hawkers and Traders Association is working together with 38 Food Street Café to extend their charity event in providing food aids for those in need throughout the city.

According to Kuching and Samarahan Division Hawkers and Traders Association advisor Dato Sim Kiang Chiok, since June this year, the association had given out 300 cooked meals everyday under its “Pack Meal Aid”, and through the association’s “Caring Food Aid” program, they had also given out food ration unconditionally to those who apply directly to the association.

“We have allocated about 2,970 food packs that have been given out over 4 weekends, which ended on Oct 10, 2021. We are happy that our main sponsor 38 Food Street Café has agreed to extend the charity event as Caring Food Aid 2.0, with another 3,000 food packs given out over 3 weekends from Oct 16 until Oct 31,” he said in a statement today.

On the same note, Sim, who is also Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Stakan branch chairman, also conveyed his gratitude to Temenggong Tan Jooi Phooi for gracing their food aid event that was held recently.

He said Temenggong Tan’s visit has helped to boost the spirits and morales of the association’s members, as well as giving them encouragement to continue to provide assistance during the pandemic time.

“Our Association are pleased that we have been able to assist our members and residents of Kuching that are facing hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic’s lockdown,” he added. — DayakDaily.
