Sibu youths urged to register for Suara project, contribute input for policy-making in Sarawak

KUCHING, Feb 12: Youths in Sibu are encouraged to register for “Strength Through Unity, Alliance and Responsive Action” (Suara) project workshop to voice out their ideas and proposals as input for policy-making in Sarawak.

Suara is a collaborative project between Sarawak Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) and Owl & Badger Group Sdn Bhd (OB Group).

According to a media release, the purpose of the project is to better understand the growing importance and potential for youth participation in the discourse of development in Sarawak.

The project kicked off with a series of workshops held in Kuching on Jan 15 and 16, followed by workshops in Miri (Jan 22 and 23).

The workshop in Bintulu is happening today and tomorrow (Feb 13) which also features a networking dinner to provide participants with the opportunity to mingle with the Board of Trustees as well as other guests.

Among those expected to be present are Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip, Bintulu Resident Datu Jack Aman Luat, YPS chief executive Datu Aloysius J Dris, Bintulu District Officer Muhamad Dino Amid and OB Research managing director Venessa Sambai Usek.

On the other hand, the workshop for Sibu will take place on Feb 19 and 20.

After the workshops, some 10 participants will be selected for an opportunity to present their ideas to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia at a later date.
