SIBU, Aug 16: Sibu residents should be prepared for a period of low water pressure, with certain areas possibly facing complete water supply disruptions starting from 10pm today.
In an advisory notice, the Sibu Water Board (LAS) informed that the interruption is expected to persist four to six hours, or until the replacement of a DN900 electromagnetic flow meter is successfully carried out at the raw water intake site along Jalan Kong Yit Khim.
The water authority advises all Sibu residents to ensure an adequate reserve of water during this interruption, which could extend until the project’s completion.
However, in the event of unfavorable weather conditions, the works will be rescheduled for the following day.
The LAS is committed to promptly completing the necessary tasks, thereby facilitating a gradual recovery of water supply in the impacted regions.
Should the public require more information, they are encouraged to reach out to the LAS hotline at 013-8106311. — DayakDaily
