KUCHING, Dec 23: Police fired gunshots at the tires of a four-wheel-drive vehicle after the driver attempted to knock them down during a bid to escape at Mission Road, Sibu on Dec 20 (Friday).
According to the police, four police personnel were despatched to the scene after they were tipped off by a reliable source about suspected drug activities.
Upon reaching the scene, the police approached the suspects and decided to check the vehicle. However, the suspects attempted to knock down the police.
Gunshots were fired at the vehicle’s tires but the suspects still managed to escape.
However, the driver and his accomplice were arrested on Sunday (Dec 22) night and the vehicle which was believed to be used by the suspects during the incident was taken to the police station for further investigation. — DayakDaily
