SIBU, March 19: Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD) is offering a 60 per cent discount on selected traffic summonses to the public in conjunction with the 216th Police Day Commemoration.
The discount is available from March 20 to 31.
The summons discount is an offer from the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) and payment can be made at all district traffic counters under the Sarawak Contingent during working days only.
Sibu District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Zulkipli Suhaili said that Sibu residents can pay the summons at the Sungai Merah Traffic Police Station counter at Jalan Wawasan.
“Payment of the summons can be made during working hours from 8am to 3pm on the specified date and time,”
“In addition, payment of the summons can also be made through the application ‘MyPay Saman PDRM’ which can be downloaded in Playstore.
“The main purpose of this suit discount offer is to facilitate the Sibu community to review and settle their outstanding summonses with a reduction of 60 per cent,” he explained.
According to him, all types of summonses are eligible for a 60 per cent discount except for accident cases, court hearing cases, non-compoundable category summons, emergency lane cutting offense summons, jumping red light summons, heavy vehicle summons, double line cutting summons, vehicle exhaust modification summons, and Ops Selamat summons. — DayakDaily
