SIBU, Jan 17: Two men were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the murder case of a man who was found dead at a durian plantation, Batu 16 Jalan Sibu/Bintulu, here on Saturday.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the body of Dimun Langie, 49, was found lying on the ground around 6.45 pm yesterday.
“The body was found at a distance of about 500 metres from the place where his motorcycle was found at the location,” he said when contacted today.
He said, an initial investigation found that the victim suffered injuries, which is believed to be bruises on both sides of the cheeks and abdomen.
According to Stanley, the two male suspects arrested, aged 33 and 37, were close friends of the deceased.
The body was taken to the Sibu Hospital mortuary for further action.
The pathologist of Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) is expected to perform an autopsy on January 18.
