SIBU,April 21: The police here are seriously the case of a boarding student who is alleged to have been bullied by his schoolmates.
A 23-second video clip allegedly showing the bullying went viral on social media yesterday. It was first uploaded on a Facebook account of user ‘Boss Jeff’.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement today said the police had already identified the victim and the suspects.
“We have received a report on the incident and have conducted investigations,” he said.
The investigation is carried out under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and Section 509 of the same Code for insulting the modesty of a person.
“We are taking this case seriously. We also want the people not to manipulate the video which has gone viral,” he said. — DayakDaily
