SIBU, Feb 23: Sibu Jaya flat accounted for six of the 15 Covid-19 cases detected in Sibu Jaya zone yesterday (Feb 22).
According to the daily statistics of Sibu Covid-19 situation update by Assistant Minister for Local Government and Housing Dr Annuar Rapaee, Block J recorded three cases while Block I, K and N recorded one case each.
As for the remaining nine cases, three cases were detected each in Terrace A at Lrg 5G (2 cases) and Lrg 5C (1 case), while Terrace E at Lrg 12C (2 cases) and Lrg 14C (1 case), as well as one case each at Block A5 of Townville, Phase 3 of Coral Avenue and Sibu Jaya Health Clinic quarters.
This thus increased the total number of positive cases at Sibu Jaya Flat to 381 and Sibu Jaya to 595 as of Feb 22.
Sibu Jaya Flat comprises 20 blocks and Block R, Q and N had the highest cumulative cases at 99, 57 and 42 respectively.
Meanwhile, under Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC), three out of six zones reported Covid-19 cases yesterday.
Pasai Siong/Oya zone recorded three cases with two cases detected at Rh Dawi and one case at Lorong Azalea 6.
Sg Durin and Sg Nibong under Durin/Naman zone recorded one case each while Sg Salim (Menyan/Salim zone) and Penasu (Batang Igan zone) recorded one case each as well.
With seven new Covid-19 cases reported yesterday, this brought the cumulative number of cases under SRDC to 1,325 as of Feb 22.
For the breakdown of cases in the six zones, Pasai Siong/Oya accounted 778 cases, Bawang Assan (174), Batang Igan (138), Menyan/ Salim (128), KID/Assan (77), and Durin/Naman (30). — DayakDaily
