SIBU,April 12: Sibu Hospital has suspended its specialist clinic service due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the district.
Sibu Hospital deputy director Dr Rachel Teng in a statement today said the suspension did not affect the dog bite clinic, appointment for expectant mothers, cancer clinic and psychiatric clinic.
She said the decision to suspend the specialist clinic service was also because most of the medical staff had been assigned to take care of patients at the Covid-19 ward and quarantine centres.
“With this, patients seeking the service of the specialist clinic are advised to make re-appointments at the clinic via telephone number 084-343333 ext.1173 or 6621, and WhatsApp at 01155201011,” she said.
The hospital regretted any inconvenience caused, Teng added.
“The public are advised to always adhere to the SOP (standard operating procedure) set by the Health Ministry and the State Disaster Management Committee,” she said. — DayakDaily
