SIBU, May 4: A nurse at Sibu Hospital has died from the coronavirus today.
A reliable source who preferred to remain anonymous when contacted said the State Disaster Management Committee will provide more details on the matter.
However, he wrote on a social media post that the nurse had fought hard in the last few days against the virus but succumbed.
“It has been a hard time in the last few days for many people who know the nurse (and close to her) who lost the battle to the virus,” he wrote.
He added many people have been saying that doctors and nurses are immune to emotions when losing patients whom they did not manage to save and that may be due to their survival skills and coping mechanisms they built up over the years.
“But, losing a comrade in our battle field is not an easy feeling. We pray that God be with her family, to keep everyone strong, and her soul rest in peaceful land. We also pray that God continues to give us strength to stay vigilant in all our works, and everyone to stay well,” he said.
He also urged the public to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), keep safe, and avoid goign near the hospital or low risk quarantine centres if they have no good reason for doing so. — DayakDaily
