SIBU, Dec 28: The construction of an additional 125 parking lots behind the Sibu Hospital’s cafeteria is expected to be completed by next week.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling pointed out that the project, costing RM500,000, was fully funded through his parliamentary allocations.

“Currently, there are 600 parking spaces in the Sibu Hospital area, of which 400 are for hospital staff use. The remaining 200 are for the public. This makes it difficult for the people to find parking,” he told reporters after visiting the site today.

He emphasised that the project, which was launched last November, is expected to solve the short-term problem of parking shortage at Sibu Hospital.

Additional lot construction work is currently underway to mark the parking lot with white and street signs.
