KUCHING, Aug 29: Sia Sitok Sarawak (SSS) 4.0 and Sia Sitok Sarawak Accommodation 3.0 will return this September with new tour packages to introduce Sarawak’s gems on nature, adventure, and culture.

Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said SSS 4.0 is the continuation of previous programmes to revive and boost domestic travel, including providing opportunities for Sarawakians to explore their own backyard.

“Today, I am proud to announce the commencement of Sia Sitok Sarawak Version 4.0 with newly added packages such as Kedaya Telang Usan for waterfalls lovers and Saloma Homestay for vacationers to immerse and experience the Bidayuh culture.

“This includes bird-watching in Ba Kelalan to get the chance to spot the Dulit Frogmouth, which is endemic to the mountains of northern Borneo; and the Belaga expedition and visiting Uma Belor, potentially the longest interrupted longhouse structure in Sarawak, which consists of seven connected blocks.

“Others include following Rajah Brooke’s trail and visiting Rentap’s Fort at Bukit Sadok; enjoying a rapid shooting experience with the Julau and Upriver Expedition; discovering Murum, and visiting Limbang–Lawas Meritam Pasir Lumpur to pamper yourself with a natural mudbath,” he told reporters in a press conference held at his office in Baitulmakmur Building II in Petra Jaya today.

Meanwhile, for SSS Accommodation 3.0, Abdul Karim said it would provide the best bargains with discounts of up to 50 per cent for staycation packages from participating hotels.

He also said the booking period will start from Sept 1 until Oct 31, and the travel or stay period will start from Sept 1 until Dec 15.

“This is timely for Sarawakians and non-Sarawakian residents planning their year-end activities.

“Please, take this opportunity to enjoy great deals from 35 per cent to 50 per cent off your preferred tour or staycation,” he added.

Back by popular demand, SSS, a Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) homegrown brand, will get the chance to choose from 62 fascinating tour packages throughout Sarawak.
