KUCHING, June 19: Some 300 lunch packs including drinks will be given out free for a week for those in need at five Premier Food Republic outlets in RH Plaza BDC, RH Park 9th Mile, Tabuan Tranquility, Emart Batu Kawa and Kota Samarahan.

The ‘Sharing is Caring’ meal campaign by the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) Kuching Branch in collaboration with Premier Food Republic has started yesterday (June 18) and will run until June 24.

Sheda Kuching Branch, in a press release, emphasised that the meal campaign was initiated to extend a helping hand and provide some relief as well as support for fellow Sarawakians impacted by the current Movement Control Order (MCO) and the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The free packed lunch is prepared by the stalls at the five food courts.

“The free meal that includes a drink can be collected from 10am onwards on a first-come-first-serve basis and is limited to 300 sets daily,” it said.

Sheda Kuching Branch chairman Dato Sim Kiang Chiok was at the food outlet in Kota Samarahan near Riyal Market here today to help distribute the free lunch packs to people.

Chicken rice, fried kueh tiaw, laksa, fried chickens, kolo mee, economy rice and mixed roasted meat rice are among the items on the menu.

Even though both State and Federal governments have rolled out various initiatives and programmes including cash aid to help the society during these difficult times, Sheda Kuching Branch however noted that there are still people on the edge especially those who have lost their jobs or have reduced income who would welcome any help including cooked meals.

As such, they welcome anyone in need of a meal to go to these five food courts to get their free lunch packs.

This campaign is co-sponsored Sheda members namely Hong Seng Construction (EM) Sdn Bhd, Sim Swee Yong Development & Construction Sdn Bhd, Hock Kui Development Sdn Bhd, RH Vision (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, Regal Group and Lafrowda Properties Sdn Bhd. — DayakDaily
