KUCHING, March 2: Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian is urging Sarawakians to propose ideas to the Sarawak government on how to reduce plastic waste.

“Please share your ideas with the various government agencies and me on what we can do to reduce plastic waste. No idea is too stupid, too small or wrong,” he said.

Instead of finger pointing and putting the blame on the authorities, he said, every Sarawakian should step up and do their part.

Dr Sim said this on social media today, responding to the sight of heaps of used plastic bottles that were swept up near the Batu Kawah Riverbank Park after the recent flash floods.

“Plastic, plastic everywhere. Very sad that this is happening in Sarawak also,” he said. — DayakDaily
