KUCHING, Oct 16: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng is set to lead his staff on an after-work walk in the park, an initiative he calls ‘ShallWEEWalk’.

He said he is hoping to start this once-a-week walk event as soon as November or December this year.

This is to encourage local residents, starting with MBKS staff, to exercise more for a healthier lifestyle, he added.

“We will also encourage our staff to use elevators less. If you use the elevator up, then we encourage you to walk down the stairs, or either way around.

“We want our citizens to be healthy,” said Wee in a Facebook live session after he flagged off the ‘Run with Love 2022’ participants at MBKS headquarters here today.

He also encouraged residents to do at least some exercise, no matter the form, during their free time either early in the morning or after work. — DayakDaily
