SGH investigating complaints about visiting policy for caregivers and visitors

KUCHING, May 25: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) management is investigating public claims of insufficient time allowed for caregivers to enter and leave wards, as well as rotation or change of caregivers in the ward, and has sought to contact complainants for further clarification to assist the investigation.

According to a statement issued by SGH director Dr Ngian Hie Ung today, there was an allegation on social media regarding caregivers for patients warded SGH who complained that the visiting policy for caregivers and visitors at Ministry of Health (MOH) hospitals should be reviewed again for all caregivers and visitors, particularly for the Covid-19 Patient Ward and Non-Covid-19 Patient Ward.

“The management of SGH would like to inform the public that the policies and regulations as set out in the visit policy for caregivers and visitors at MOH hospitals during the transition phase to endemic Covid-19 from MOH will always be enforced properly,” said Dr Ngian. — DayakDaily
