KUCHING, March 19: Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) has denied that it is sourcing funds from the public to assist the workers of the hospital in containing the coronavirus (Covid-19).

In a statement, SGH management revealed the hospital had never asked any party to use its name to raise funds from the public to assist staff who are involved in containing Covid-19.

The hospital noted that fundraising campaigns by non-governmental organisations (NGO), some on social media, for efforts to contain Covid-19 had created some confusion to the public.

SGH reminded the public or NGOs that want to raise funds pertaining to containing Covid-19 to follow the guidelines and procedures as specified by the Ministry of Health.

Earlier today, Miri Hospital also released a statement to deny involvement in donation drives purportedly for its staff or patients affected by Covid-19. — DayakDaily
