MIRI, Jan 4: A 63-year-old man had a harrowing experience when a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle he was travelling on skidded off the road and crashed into a monsoon drain at KM87, Miri-Bintulu road.
The victim was lucky to have escaped unharmed in the 5.30pm incident yesterday.
According to Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu, the victim was on his way to Miri from Bintulu when the incident occurred.
“The driver was said to have lost control of the 4WD while negotiating a sharp bend before skidding off the road and plunged into the monsoon drain,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59. — DayakDaily
