Cops detain four individuals, seizes drugs in separate raids

MIRI, Jan 4: The Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) has detained four youths including a woman, and seized drugs worth RM14,000 in two separate raids here yesterday.

Miri deputy police chief, Supt Mohd Sabri Zainol, said the first three suspects were apprehended in a house at Jalan Calycina, Pin Fook Garden, around 11am, while the fourth suspect (a male), known as “Don”, was detained five hours later inside a parked car at Homelite condominium.

The suspects, aged between 18 and 20, are detained to assists police investigations, he added.

In the first raid conducted inside the house at Pin Fook Garden, police have discovered illegal substances believed to be Methamphetamine weighing 198.83 grammes.

“Four transparent plastic packets were found inside a black plastic bag in one of the room of the house,” Mohd Sabri said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been renting the double storey house for about a year with rental price to be around RM1,200 per month.

Urine tests conducted on the first, second and third suspects came out negative, while the fourth suspect turned out to be positive for drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
