Seven students of St Joseph’s International School achieve straight As while two, 9A+ in IGCSE

KUCHING, Jan 18: St. Joseph’s International School (SJIS) records another successful year in 2023 when their Year 9 and Year 11 students achieve outstanding results in their Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and IGCSE examinations, respectively.

In a statement today, SJIS disclosed that eight students obtained a perfect score of 50 in all three subjects for their Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint results and not only that, nine students achieved an overall score between 145 and 149 in all three subjects.

SJIS stated that 31 students, or 42 per cent, achieved outstanding scores in all three subjects taken; 39 students or 58 per cent, had attained outstanding scores in the English Language while 52 students or 70 per cent showed outstanding scores in Mathematics, and 48 students or 65 per cent attained outstanding scores in Science


It also revealed that SJIS achieved an overall Year 9 Checkpoint Average result of 41 (English), 42 (Mathematics) and 42 (Science), which is much higher than the International Average result of 33 (English), 31 (Mathematics) and 31 (Science).

Meanwhile, 52 students from the 2024 batch of graduates received their IGCSE results with genuine joy and excitement today.

A total of seven students obtained straight As. Two students achieved straight 9A+, while four students achieved 6A+ and 2A. One student achieved 3A+ and 5A,” said SJIS.

SJIS said it is satisfied with the outstanding achievements of its students in the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint.

“As for IGCSE, the overall performance was generally well done, which has met the school’s expectations. There is room for improvement,” said SJIS. — DayakDaily
