KUCHING, June 8: Seven individuals, all locals, were arrested for illegal gambling activity at a coffee shop located at Kampung Stenggang, Bau on Saturday night.
Bau District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said a team of Crime Investigation Department (CID) raided the coffee shop around 9 pm.
According to the police report, the suspects were gathering together, playing ‘Holo’ gamble games at one of the tables in the shop. All the seven suspects were arrested for having the illegal activity.
“The police had also confiscated a set of ‘Holo’ gambling items, four chairs, a table and cash from the raid,” he said in a press statement.
Poge said that all the suspects did not have criminal records and were arrested under Common Gaming House Act 1953 and Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 2020. -DayakDaily
