‘Setia Perpaduan’ song inspired by Yang di-Pertuan Agong launched at Unity Week Celebration

KUCHING, May 21: A song titled ‘Setia Perpaduan’ inspired by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, was launched at Unity Week Celebration 2023 held at Kuching Waterfront here today.

The inaugural song was composed by veteran singer Datuk DJ Dave and sung with 13 other singers, including Jaclyn Victor, Datuk Awie, Marsha Milan Londoh, Suki Low, and Bob Yusof.

At the launch, almost all the artistes were there to perform the song together except for Datuk Awie before the King and other dignitaries.

The first part of the song was sung in Bahasa Malaysia, and the second verse of the song could be heard in other languages or dialects in Malaysia.

It was reported that the King himself initiated the concept.

Amongst the distinguished dignitaries present were Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang. — DayakDaily
