MUKAH, Jan 13: The Youth and Women wings of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) should propose the creation of a special trust fund to provide direct welfare assistance to those in need.
In making the call, Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth chief Gerald Rentap Jabu argued that having such a fund would ensure those in need of aid could get it directly and quickly and without having to deal with red tape.
He hoped Minister of Welfare, Community Well-being, Women, Family and Childhood Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah could help make this proposal a reality.
Rentap said this at the GPS Flag Road Show at Mukah Waterfront here today.
On another matter, he told those present that GPS had the necessary experience to administer the state properly.
He added that the ruling state coalition would ensure that every stratum of the society would be treated equally. — DayakDaily
