KUCHING, Aug 23: Serian, Kuching, Sri Aman, and Samarahan continue to record unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) readings, with Serian recording the highest reading at 192 as of 10am today.
According to data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) under the Department of Environment (DOE), Kuching recorded 181, Sri Aman recorded 176, and Samarahan recorded 174.
Other areas in the State recorded moderate readings, with Sarikei at 97 followed by Mukah (94), Bintulu (93), Samalaju (92), Miri (91), ILP Miri (81), Sibu (80), Limbang (76), and Kapit (66).
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) reported that Telang Usan and Marudi have been issued a Level 1 heat alert as of 6am today.
A Level 1 heat alert is issued when daily maximum temperatures reach 35 degrees Celsius to 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days. — DayakDaily
