KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2: Dewan Negara Senator Ras Adiba Radzi announced that her special aide and sister Ras Afiona Radzi has tested positive for Covid-19.

The former television newscaster who was sworn in as a senator last May revealed that Ras Afiona is currently receiving treatment at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“For the information of all, I and as many as 10 of my family members are waiting for the Covid-19 test results.

“I would like to apologise if I have inconvenienced anyone following this incident which happened to my family and I,” she said in a brief statement today.

Earlier, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan told the August House that a few staff of Dewan Negara had been infected with Covid-19, adding that a special aide to a senator was positive Covid-19.

He pointed out that some of the senators might also be infected with Covid-19 due to close contacts.

As a result, he said the Parliament might have a reduced meeting duration for the week.

The latest update came as the Perikatan Nasional (PN) federal government is tabling the Budget 2021 this Friday (November 6). — DayakDaily
