KUCHING, July 11: Senator Pele Peter Tinggom and Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer (CEO) Sharzede Salleh Askor are among 177 recipients awarded the Diamond Jubilee Commemorative Medal (Bronze) in honour of Sarawak’s 60th anniversary of independence.
Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas presented the medals during an investiture ceremony at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex (DUN) today.
Other notable recipients included former director of Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) Richard Tajan, former Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) CEO Zolkipli Mohamad Aton, Yayasan Sarawak director Mersal Abang Rosli, Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVSS) director Dr Adrian Susin, Sarawak Museum Department director Nancy Jolhi, and Press Secretary in the Sarawak Premier’s Office Ambrose Cheng Loi Hee.
The Diamond Jubilee medals were awarded to those who have contributed and served with excellence towards the development of Sarawak.
Among other dignitaries present at the ceremony were Uggah’s wife Dato Doreen Mayang, Sarawak DUN Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni, and Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak Datuk Martin Ben. ā DayakDaily
