KUCHING, July 15: Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd and Master Tec Group Berhad have partnered to establish a cable distribution network and explore the development of a full-fledged cable manufacturing facility in Sarawak.
The strategic collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed today on the sidelines of the Borneo International Energy Week (IEW 2025) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), witnessed by Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni.
According to a media release, the partnership marks Master Tec’s first foray into the Sarawak market, strengthening its presence in Borneo by distributing a full range of cables, including power, control, instrumentation, and fibre optic cables, across key sectors such as utilities, telecommunications, oil and gas, infrastructure, and industry.
Beyond distribution, both parties will jointly conduct a feasibility study on establishing a cable manufacturing facility in Sarawak to serve as a regional production hub, enhancing local supply chain capabilities and operational efficiency.
Master Tec Group chief executive officer (CEO) Tee Kok Hwa emphasised that the collaboration represents a key milestone in supporting Sarawak’s infrastructure growth.
“This MoU marks a key milestone in strengthening Master Tec’s presence in Sarawak, reinforcing our long-standing involvement in the Borneo market and supporting the region’s expanding energy and telecommunication needs. We are proud to partner with Senari Synergy, a respected name in Sarawak’s energy and logistics landscape,” he said.
Senari Synergy Group managing director Dato Jefri Ahmad Tambi said the partnership aligns with Sarawak’s industrialisation goals.
“We are excited to collaborate with Master Tec to support Sarawak’s energy transition and industrial development. By combining Master Tec’s technical expertise with our local footprint, we are confident this collaboration will generate strong synergies and bring long-term value to the state and its stakeholders,” he added.
Senari Synergy, incorporated in 2010, is a key player in Sarawak’s energy logistics sector, owning and operating two of the State’s three petroleum storage terminals in Kuching and Tanjung Manis, with business activities spanning petroleum, gas, renewable energy, port operations, and light industrial development.
This collaboration supports Sarawak’s broader industrial and energy aspirations, and represents another step in Senari Synergy’s ongoing commitment to facilitating growth, investment, and innovation across the region. — DayakDaily
