KUCHING, March 17: Open land in residential areas under Senadin constituency will be turned into a recreational park and running track, says Minister for Transport Sarawak Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) today, the Senadin assemblyman said the project is part of the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) plans in his area.
“As part of my RTP plan, every major residential area with open land will be turned into a recreational park under the Sarawak government,” he told reporters when met during his working visit to three RTP projects in Miri today.
Lee, who is also Senadin assemblyman, said the recreation park will help encourage healthy living practices, providing green areas as well as a place for leisure.
In addition, he added, this will also encourage the younger generation to spend less time with their gadgets and perform outside activities such as exercising to stay healthy and fit.
Earlier, Lee made a site visit to the three RTP project sites involving the construction of two new recreational parks and running tracks at Vista Perdana and one at Desa Pujut Permyjaya with a total cost of RM400,000. — DayakDaily
