KUCHING, Feb 18: The public is encouraged to seek a horticulturist with help from their local council to help them beautify their respective residential, recreational parks.

Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication II Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said members of the public who live in a residence where they have a recreational park could always get access to horticulture experts from the council.

“Councils such as the Kuching City North Council (DBKU) have such services so that they could have their recreational park and its landscape and the surrounding environment neat and beautiful.

“It would be wise for any residential committee under council jurisdiction to come together and seek their assistance and get such services,” he added.

He gave the advice at a press conference after officiating at the launch of Kuching Family Park at Jalan Sultan Tengah.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who is ADUN for Pantai Damai, said the initiative must come from the residents and their committee with ideas as to what they want to do in their recreational park.

“These committees, for instance, can go the council and forward their ideas so that the management can assign the right department and an expert to assist them,’ he said.
