KUCHING, April 22: The Sarawak Entrepreneur Development Coordination Committee (SEDCC) is established to facilitate and coordinate the implementation of entrepreneur development programmes in Sarawak.
Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan emphasised that SEDCC is established under the Ministry of International Trade and Investment (Mintred) which consists of various State and Federal government agencies involved in the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the State.
“I believe that via this, the coordination and synergy between all the agencies under SEDCC could benefit more entrepreneurs in Sarawak and would reduce duplication in terms of programme implementation, planning and so forth,” he said in a statement today.
Awang Tengah highlighted this at SEDCC main committee meeting held at local hotel, here today.
The Mintred Minister elaborated that all agencies under SEDCC are divided into five technical clusters, namely Capacity Building; Promotion and Marketing; Financial Assistance; Research, Development and Innovation; and Business and Industry Infrastructure, including the newly established technical clusters, led by Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC).
He hopes that the platform would be able to come out with a comprehensive data for policy formulation, programmes and monitoring to strengthen entrepreneur development in Sarawak.
“This is for the betterment of our local entrepreneurs and MSMEs,” he added.— DayakDaily
