KUCHING, March 25: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) general manager Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir urged his staff to donate blood for a good cause and play their part in supporting the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank.
“As a responsible Sarawak government agency, SEDC Sarawak will continue to play its role to uplift the lives of local people and this includes undertaking corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes which is our small contribution towards alleviating their plights,” he said as he also commended staff on the recent annual blood donation campaign event that was organised by SEDC Social and Recreation Club (PEDAS) held at Dewan Kenyalang of Menara SEDC in Kuching Isthmus.
“We will continue to encourage our staff members to support similar blood donation campaigns in the near future because it saves lives and at the same it shows that SEDC Sarawak is also playing its part in such noble initiatives,” he added.
The recent blood campaign saw the participation of 30 staff.
Apart from organising blood drives for its staff, SEDC Sarawak and its subsidiary companies also undertake charitable projects as part of its CSR which include its annual “Love In the Box Campaign”, ‘gotong-royong’ and other community related activities which are targeted at less privileged children and other members of society. — DayakDaily
