KUCHING, May 22: The Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and its subsidiaries ceremoniously handed RM300,000 in business tithes online in a Zoom meeting.
SEDC in a statement today said that it was the first time for the corporation to conduct such a ceremony, in compliance with the standard operating procedure (SOP) under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) implementation period.
“The brief ceremony of reciting the ‘akad’ and symbolic handing over of the RM300,000 business tithes was performed by SEDC Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Abdul Aziz Haji Husain on May 20, 2020, and was received by the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datu Abang Sebli Haji Abang Mohd Nailie,” the statement read.
Among those present at the ceremony were senior management staff including SEDC Sarawak General Manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir and his deputy, Rakayah Hamdan while TBS’ Operations Division Manager, Ustaz Haji Mohammad Yusree Bin Haji Mohammad Zain was also present online.—DayakDaily.
