KUCHING, July 16: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has encouraged its staff to participate in sports and promote a healthy lifestyle.

“It is important for us to be involved in sports and games, which can contribute to our wellness,” its chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Husain said when opening the agency’s sports carnival at SEDC club house, Jalan Upland, here last Saturday (July 13).

The purpose of having the sports carnival was also to foster cordial relations and understanding among staff members of SEDC and its subsidiary companies, he added.

“Many of the agency’s staff have represented Sarawak in various sporting events such as badminton, golf and sepaktakraw.

“This year’s sports carnival was also to scout for talents who can represent SEDC in future events at state and national level,” he continued.
