KUCHING, July 3: A company offering security guard services located at Jalan Haji Taha here has sparked a new workplace cluster with 121 Covid-19 cases confirmed so far.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today said a total of 294 individuals have been screened in the Jalan Haji Taha Cluster.
“Of these, 121 people have tested positive for Covid-19 including the index case, 143 have tested negative and 30 are awaiting test results,” the Committee said.
All positive cases from the cluster were referred and admitted to Sarawak General Hospital and the Kuching Low-Risk Treatment Centre (PKRC) for isolation and further treatment.
With the addition of the Jalan Haji Taha Cluster, there are now 20 active clusters in Kuching.
SDMC today also announced three news clusters, namely the Pagar Tebedu Cluster in Tebedu, Bintulu 35 Cluster in Bintulu and Semuja Cluster in Serian.
At the same time, SDMC announced the end of five clusters namely, Tanjung Kibong Cluster in Sibu, Jalan Jambusan Cluster in Bau, Lubok Nitih Cluster in Saratok, Sungai Sian Cluster in Meradong and Jalan Pinang Riam Cluster in Miri.
At present, there are 96 active clusters in the State with 11 of them recording an increase of 33 new positive cases. — DayakDaily
