Second boy found dead in Kidurong waterfall incident

KUCHING, Mar 22: The 12-year-old boy, who was among the two boys believed to have drowned at a waterfall area in Kidurong, Bintulu, on Saturday (Mar 21), was found dead.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the body of Darren Dakun Paruscrum was found at around 11.19pm on Saturday by the public, approximately 5m from the riverbank at a depth of 9m.

The victim was retrieved by residents with assistance from firefighters before being handed over to the police for further action.

Darren and another friend, Tristan Mariss Marissa Erna, 12, were believed to have drowned while swimming at the waterfall with friends, as they were last seen at 2.30pm.

Tristan’s body was found at around 5.20pm on the same day. — DayakDaily
