KUCHING, Sept 1: A construction site cluster at Stalun Fly and Sebayang Camps of th eSabah-Sarawak Gas Pipeline (SSGP) with 16 confirmed Covid-19 cases to-date have been reported as one of the two new clusters in Limbang today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Sebayang-Stalun Cluster was a workplace cluster at Long Rayeh.
“A total of 21 individuals were screened where 16 tested positive for Covid-19 and five tested negative. 14 cases were reported today,” it said in a Covid-19 statement today.
The second cluster, dubbed the Menuang Baru Cluster, in the district was a community cluster involving Rh Manggi Kampung Menuang Baru at Jalan Tedungan.
Some 174 individuals were swabbed where 70 tested positive for Covid-19 and 104 returned negative results.
SDMC assured that all patients were admitted into Limbang Hospital and the Limbang Low-risk Treatment and Quarantine Centres (PKRC).
Other existing clusters that saw two-digit new infections today included KM20 Jalan Betong Cluster (75), Mapu Cluster (45), Bungey 2 Cluster (39) and Jero Gelasah Cluster (10).
The Long Urun, Tanjong Kibong 2, Lubuk Bukut and Kampung Simpok Clusters reported six, five, four and two cases respectively while Dijih, Sungai Penyarai and Nanga Pelugau Clusters each had one additional case today.
Meanwhile, the Duyoh Cluster in Bau and Kampung Pueh Cluster in Lundu were declared to be expired today following 28 consecutive days of recording zero new cases.
With that, Sarawak is now left with 131 active clusters. ā DayakDaily
