Despite attempts by the girlfriend along with her son, younger sibling, and a friend to trace him around the back areas of the village, they failed to locate him.

On Sept 23 at around 11am, villagers reported sighting the victim in a nearby forest close to the junction of Kampung Jangkar. He was said to appear to be in an unstable state.

Fearing for his safety, the woman lodged a police report at Lundu Police Station today, before alerting the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

Bomba Lundu confirmed that a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched at 2.30pm today, with the assistance of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Civil Defence Force (APM).

Search teams are currently combing an area within a 1km radius along the back of villagers’ homes in Kampung Jangkar.

“As of now, no clues or traces have been found,” Bomba said in a report, with the search operation still ongoing. — DayakDaily
