Search underway for 15yo boy feared attacked by croc in Kuching

KUCHING, Mar 27: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted for a 15-year-old boy was believed to be attacked by a crocodile near Sungai Sarawak, Rantau Panjang Batu Kawa, here today.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 2.41pm, and firefighters from the Batu Lintang station were deployed.

Based on the chronology of events, the victim and two of his siblings were playing in the river while his mother was washing clothes when he complained of pain in his leg before he was believed to be dragged by a crocodile.

The victim’s grandfather who was at the scene attempted to pursue the crocodile using a boat. However, at approximately 200 metres from where the victim was attacked, the victim disappeared.
