KUCHING, July 8: The search for ‘Dara Kenyalang’, a reality TV show by TVS, will begin on July 13, where contestants will stand a chance to win a total of RM28,000 in cash prizes.
According to a media release by TVS today, the reality TV show draws inspiration from the Kumang, Keligit and Dayung competitions.
Auditions will take place in 12 divisions throughout the State — Limbang, Miri, Bintulu, Mukah, Kapit, Sibu, Sarikei, Betong, Sri Aman, Serian, Samarahan, and Kuching.
The crowned Dara Kenyalang will bring home RM10,000, while the second-place winner will receive RM7,000 and third place RM5,000. There is also a consolation prize of RM2,000 for those in fourth to sixth place.
The contest is open to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 and 28 of Iban, Bidayuh, or Orang Ulu or mixed parentage.
Participants must be 155cm and above in height with the ideal weight, never married, and willing to undergo filming for one month. Filming allowances will be provided for selected participants.

Each application must include full-sized and medium-sized photos, a video displaying the applicant’s talent or skills in traditional art, and a resume or curriculum vitae (CV) with the applicant’s background, highest achievements, and career experience.
The closing date for applications is July 13.
