KUCHING, 12 Oct: A 39-year-old man was reported missing after he fell into a river from an express boat at a wharf along Jalan Khoo Peng, Sibu this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) despatched a team to the scene after it was alerted at 8.48am.

According to a statement from the state Bomba operations centre, the victim fell from the express boat which was scheduled to leave for Daro and disappeared under the river’s surface.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been activated. SAR personnel are using ‘water surface searching’ methods to look for the missing victim.
