KUCHING, May 22: State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will not be reimplementing Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) like in Movement Control Order (MCO) 1.0, but more details on stricter SOP are to be disclosed on Monday.

SDMC advisor Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said following a long meeting with the National Security Council (MKN) yesterday (May 21), SDMC will be having its own discussion tonight.

“Yesterday afternoon, SDMC had a very long meeting with MKN that lasted for three hours.

“The details of the meeting would be discussed within SDMC tonight and most probably on Monday, more details of the SOP would be disclosed.

“But it will not be like MCO 1.0,” he said during a Facebook live session by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng earlier today.

Dr Sim, who is also Minister for Local Government and Housing, said the cooperation of every Sarawakian is needed at these dire times though the SOP could be inconvenient at times. — DayakDaily
